This 1973 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia TC is a rare Touring Coupé, one of approximately 18,000 examples produced by Volkswagen do Brasil between 1970 and 1976. Designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro and built on the Type 3 platform, the TC combines classic Italian styling with Volkswagen’s reliable engineering. Finished in bright yellow over a black vinyl interior, the car retains its elegant, clean lines and bright trim accents, including chrome bumpers, window surrounds, and polished 15-inch alloy wheels with hubcaps. The cabin features black vinyl seats, matching dash and door panels, a woodgrain shift knob, a push-button radio, and a heater, all maintaining the car’s classic appeal. Power comes from the air-cooled 1.6-liter flat-four paired with dual Solex carburetors and a four-speed manual transaxle, sending power to the rear wheels. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums, while the suspension and steering provide the nimble, responsive feel typical of the TC. The odometer shows 36,000 kilometers (~22,000 miles). Features such as venting quarter windows, a single exhaust outlet, and a two-spoke steering wheel with VDO gauges complete this classic, refined package.
