This 1972 Suzuki LJ20 Jimny is a rare and charming example of Suzuki's legendary off-road vehicle that has been restored. This second-series LJ20 is powered by a 360cc, two-stroke, water-cooled, twin-cylinder engine that produces approximately 25 horsepower and is mated to a four-speed manual transmission and two-speed transfer case for versatile off-road capability. The pickup handles very well, sounds like a dirt bike, and attracts a lot of attention wherever it goes. Although Jimnys were never officially imported to the US by Suzuki, approximately 800 units were brought in by IEC. This pickup, like other versions for the US market, has the spare tire mounted outside the tailgate, a feature allowed in the US that does not impose Kei length restrictions. The overall length is just over 9 feet 8 inches, making it compact yet capable. Additionally, the Safari roof and trunk lid are not standard items, adding a unique touch. The radiator grille has eight vertical slats, one more than on the flagship Jeep models that inspired the Jimny, with the Suzuki name printed across the grille. The truck’s interior is nearly original, with vinyl-lined seats, fitted rubber floor mats, and original instrumentation. Under the hood, the 360cc two-stroke parallel twin engine is mated to a four-speed manual transmission, providing enough power for a top speed of around 45 mph.
