The 1969 Mercury Cyclone Spoiler II 'Dan Gurney Special' is a significant model in American automotive history, embodying the performance innovations of the late '60s. Designed specifically for NASCAR racing, the Spoiler II was a modified version of the standard Mercury Cyclone and featured aerodynamic enhancements that made it stand out on the track. All '69 Cyclone Spoiler II 'Dan Gurney Special' models are powered by Ford's 351ci/4V Windsor engine that was rated at 290hp. The engine was rebuilt, and the original carburetor was replaced with an Edelbrock performance carb. The Windsor is backed by an FMX Merc-O-Matic 3-speed automatic transmission and 9" HD open differential with 3.25:1 gearing. (Engine, transmission and differential are date-code correct.) The chassis is equipped with power steering, power disc/drum brakes, sway bar and heavy-duty suspension components.
