1965 Volkswagen Type 3 for Sale in Alabama

This 1965 Volkswagen Type 3 Notchback is finished in Volkswagen Mouse Grey, the car features a 1600cc dual-port flat-four engine paired with a 4-speed manual transaxle. The exterior presents a 2-fold canvas sunroof, cat-eye mirrors, SB-12 headlamp trim rings, European-style side markers, and a Pedro’s Racks trunk luggage rack. The car rides on staggered-width 15" Nankang Diamond Back whitewall tires mounted on painted “wide 5” wheels, with 1500 badging retained at the rear. While the car has been stored in a heated garage and mostly kept out of inclement weather, minor blemishes are noted, including a scratch on the passenger fender, a small dent on the driver-side fender, some wear on the canvas top stitching, and a rear bumper that could benefit from rechroming. Inside, the cabin features TMI Platinum mesh seat covers, replacement door panels, replacement rear vent trim, coco floor mats, a wicker parcel tray, and an Empi/Speedwell steering wheel with matching Empi day/night mirror. A functional Alpine CD player is installed, though the horn and clock are described as temperamental. Mechanically, the car runs on a rebuilt 1600cc dual-port flat-four with a 4-speed manual transaxle. Maintenance over the last year includes a basic tune-up, valve adjustment, and oil change. The suspension has been lowered and is equipped with Empi sway bars at the front and rear, improving handling while retaining the car’s classic feel.
