This 1965 Shelby Cobra CSX8037 is an exceptionally rare and highly collectible “Slab Side” example, finished in British Racing Green with a black leather interior. Powered by a 289 c.i. (331 c.i.) Ford V8 producing 479 hp and 437 lb-ft of torque, it is paired with a 5-speed Tremec transmission and a 3.54:1 posi rear end. Features include a soft top with side windows, heater and defroster, 72-spoke chrome wire wheels, wind wings, front and rear hoop bumpers, full-size spare in the trunk, aluminum radiator with electric fan, and original map pockets and glove box. These “Slab Side” Cobras were built before Shelby introduced the protruding fenders of the competition cars, using the original AC Bristol-style bodies with minimal modification. With just over 50 of the 8,000 series Cobras ever produced.
