A rare and charming example of early Volkswagen design, this 1963 Volkswagen Type 3 Notchback stands out with its distinctive styling and well-preserved character. Finished in Sea Blue over a beige interior, the car presents a classic and tasteful color combination that complements its unique notchback profile. The body has been refinished in its current color and is accented by chrome bumpers with overriders, Hella driving lights, pop-out rear vent windows, and a sliding sunroof. These features, along with the polished exhaust outlet, give the car both period-correct appeal and added personality. Inside, the cabin is upholstered in beige vinyl with cord-pattern inserts, paired with square weave carpeting and matching door panels. The dashboard retains its original charm with a body-color finish, Wolfsburg-crested steering wheel, VDO instrumentation, and an analog clock. A Blaupunkt stereo and heater provide additional comfort and convenience. Power comes from an air-cooled 1.6-liter flat-four engine paired with a four-speed manual transaxle, delivering a simple and engaging driving experience. Recent service includes a rebuilt carburetor, replacement seatbelts, and refreshed front wheel cylinders, contributing to reliable operation. Riding on 15-inch steel wheels with chrome hubcaps and Firestone tires, this Type 3 maintains its classic look while offering a smooth and enjoyable ride.
