This 1949 Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 Super Sport Cabriolet by Pinin Farina is an exquisite example of post-war Italian coachbuilding, finished in black with a tan leather interior. One of a limited number of Super Sport variants clothed in Pinin Farina cabriolet bodywork, it features a narrow scudetto center grille, glass-covered Carello headlights, a centrally hinged hood, dual side mirrors, trafficators, pop-out door handles, and a beige convertible top with a matching boot. Bright 17-inch wire wheels with two-eared knock-offs sit on 6.50/7.00×17 tires, and four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes provide stopping power. Inside, the right-hand-drive cabin seats two in bucket seats with matching door panels and kick panels, complemented by color-keyed carpeting and a body-color dashboard housing a glovebox with the Pinin Farina crest. Additional features include tinted visors, footwell vents, a heater, and a cord-wrapped two-spoke steering wheel ahead of a column-mounted shifter. Jaeger instrumentation includes a 200-km/h speedometer, tachometer, and gauges for oil temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and a clock, with the odometer showing minimal mileage. The 2,443cc dual-overhead-cam inline-six powers the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. This Super Sport engine, fed by triple Weber carburetors, delivers refined performance with independent front suspension using twin trailing arms and coil springs, and a swing-axle rear with torsion bars and telescopic shock absorbers.
